This is the best wedding cake EVER. Sadly, I'm already married, so I can't get married again just to have an excuse to make my own (Stargate?) version of this cake. But the next time I make a birthday cake for someone (well ... assuming I get a chance to make a cake for someone who would appreciate it) I am totally stealing this idea. I just don't think I could execute it this well.

This is my first Supernatural music video and I worked on it with my sister. It took us a while because my Movie Maker was having issues nonetheless, it didn't stop us from going further for the awesome Winchester boys. I am very pleased with the end result and you all like it as much as I loved making it. For those who don't know who Michael Johns is, he was a contestant on American Idol this year. He finished eighth place and this song that I used is from his pre-Idol days when he was in the rock band, The Rising. It's a really good song and I think it fits the Winchesters very well.

 

It's because the raspberries were on sale, you see.

And because I remembered I had a batch of green crab apples I needed to attempt to turn into pectin.

And because, well, Google indexes your posts, and I was searching for that ONE raspberry recipe, and, and...

You know, I lived quite nicely and comfortably, canning away, without a maslin pan.

And now? You've got me utterly and completely convinced that I need one.

Sadly, I can't be spending the money one one now, but I glare in your general (citrus-producing, long growing season-having) general direction. Because as soon as I can? I so totally will.

(It's not your fault, however, that I'm plotting planting one year whips with a mind to make pretty, pretty, short and flat fruit trees. That one's a long-standing desire, refreshed by an unfortunate run in with Apartment Therapy today.)

Summary: This one has a longer genesis than most of my vids. accioscar posted a vid suggestion over at human10_x_rose for a vid to Snow Patrol's You Could Be Happy, from the Doctor's pov, wondering if Rose was happy with human!Ten in Pete's World. When I started thinking about it, however, I began from Rose's perspective: as far as she knows, the Doctor just left her for noble reasons (again), devastating them both in the process (again), and is currently traveling the universe with Timelord!Donna. This vid basically charts Rose's progress - she begins by obsessing over her memories, and imagining what the Doctor's new life is like. She wishes him the best, but her behavior is destroying any hope of a relationship with her own Doctor, trapped in a new world without a TARDIS or even a sonic screwdriver for comfort. Slowly, she begins to let go of her life with the 'proper' Doctor, and gives her Doctor (and herself) a chance.

Apparently, it is SHOCKING AND APPALLING that I have ANY desire to watch the new movie.

After all, Certain People Stopped Watching After The First Movie (note: as the one with the memory in the household, if by after, you mean TWO SEASONS AFTER, yes, he did). Its downward spiral made Certain People ashamed to have ever been a fan.

Rebuttal made as follows: A: you saw Send in the Clones, or Attack of the Clones, or whatever the hell the third prequel was called, in the theatre. B: and you watched both Matrix sequels. C: and you own the Beverley Hills Cop boxed set.

Certain People have NO ROOM TO TALK.

If you can't tell a story without brutally killing a woman solely for the purpose of furthering the plot line of the (brutal and masochistic) male characters; if you can't think of a female character that is concerned about more than which man she's going to choose; if you can't make as many of your primary, secondary AND tertiary characters female as you do male (exception: some period stuff), then

a) you UTTERLY FAIL at imagination.

b) you shouldn't tell that story at all.

Saw the Dark Knight the other night and needed a little time to process it. I'm having mixed feelings about it. It was a great movie like everyone says but it was too dark for me. Also, I like superhero movies (if done well) but I've never been fond of crime/mob/cop movies and Dark Knight is this first and a superhero movie second. This movie was not fun and I left feeling down and emotionally wiped. I suppose I was engaged and entertained but not in the same way I was by say Iron Man. There was no wish fulfillment for lack of a better word...after seeing this movie I didn't want to be Batman.

I went Tuesday night and there were still a lot of showtimes (especially the IMAX) that were selling out. When I passed by the theater again yesterday and today the parking lot was still more full that I've seen it on a week day for a long time. This movie is going to break even more records this week.

OMG. MacGyver fans. You can now get an apartment in the building used for the external shots of the Phoenix Foundation! ZOMG! =D If I had money, I so would. And then I would move my butt to Vancouver and stalk people. Read about it here. That is all kinds of AWESOME. I would spend all day making stupid fanvideos. Oh, and season 6 is out on DVD here in a few days - how exciting, something else to marathon!

Oh no. =( I just realised. Two incarnates of Pete Thornton have passed away. *is sad* We lost Dana Elcar in 2005, and then his stunt double, Don S. Davis quite recently. 

Hmm I think I will show beaumontrulz the clip from MacGyver wherein Christopher Judge gets the smack down from RDA. Possibly the only time such a thing will be seen on screen. =D Or maybe I'll call up the brief shot of Dan Shea - WITH A MULLET (lol he was a Mac stand-in). Because lately in our season 2 SG1 viewing, we've been seen Sparky a lot. Must have been the season when he rose to prominence!

You know it was one of those days when you get home, turn on the computer...and start logging onto your work's secure website.  I didn't need to, I just did it automatically.  

This is my way of saying, I'm bushed and dragging a little.  So, I didn't revise this chapter as well as I probably could have.  Apologies in advance.

I don't know if it's a phobia per se but I hate making phone calls. I have gotten to where I'll answer the phone more often than I used to, but when it comes to dialing I still have to sit there for a minute and take a couple of deep breaths before I start pressing numbers. I can look at phone books but it usually takes a little while to translate those printed digits into me actually operating the scary telephone machine. When someone answers there is always a fleeting moment of panic. Answering machines are right out and I hang up a lot just because I can't go through with it. This happens with every call I make except to my closest friends/family.

Dumbest phobia ever.
